Jean H. MacDowell

Jean H. MacDowell, of North Syracuse passed away on October 8, 2024. Jean was born in Groveland, NY on July 5, 1923, daughter of Glenwood and Margaret Norton. She was 101 years old.

Jean attended West High School in Rochester and was employed as a talented seamstress for many years. She was also an avid knitter and crocheter. She donated and gave others her handiwork. Jean enjoyed traveling and later in life traveled with her friends at senior communities. She was known for her sharp card playing skills at the senior centers. Besides family she adored the staff and fellow residents at Buckley Landing.

She is survived by sons, Stephen "Jake" Jacoby of Pomona Park, FL, Douglas (Margot) Jacoby, Copenhagen, NY, brother, Glenwood Norton, Jr., Rochester, NY, cousin Anna Marie Bovill Lea of California, her grandchildren, Angela Parsley (Mark), Aime Jaramillo (Yuan), Mike Covert, SC, Melissa Freeman, Fulton, NY, step grandchildren. She had numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was proud of them all.
