Janet M. Markes, 64, of Syracuse, passed away Friday. She was born in Malone, NY and resided in the Syracuse area for the past 38 years. She worked for the Syracuse City School Dist. for the past 20 years as a Teacher's Assistant. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years; Shelby L. Markes; children, Jodi Lee, Eric (Jenny) Tavernier, Shelly Markes, Janell Markes, Brandy (Emel) Khbais, Shelby J. Markes, Shannon Markes, Erin (Anthony) Moll, Shawn Markes; seventeen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother, Kenneth (Joyce) LaBuff.
Services will be Thursday, 10AM at St. Johns the Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
Contributions may be made to the Pre-K program at the Syracuse City School Dist.
