James W. Whittemore, Jr.

James W. Whittemore, Jr., 62, of Syracuse, passed away on January 20, 2024. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to the late Polly and James W. Whittemore, Sr. He lived in Oklahoma City, OK before moving to Syracuse, NY. He worked as a cook for James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center and also Wegmans Prepared Foods.

James enjoyed his bible studies. He also enjoyed watching the Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandson.

He was predeceased by a brother, John Whittemore.

James is survived by his wife, Gloria S.P. Whittemore; son, James W. Whittemore III; two sisters, Cynthia Clampet and Mary Towery, both of Oklahoma City, OK; grandson, Azriel James Whittemore and several nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 10th 2-3pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals with a service to follow at 3pm.
