James W. Scott

James William Scott was born June 17, 1930 to Charles Elias Scott and Flossie Ann Welch, and was joined in wedlock to Muriel L. Stearns on July 1, 1950 and was happily married until Muriel's passing in 1999. Jim was a retired employee of both the Onondaga Water and Waste Treatment Facility, the USAF as a T/Sgt. While in Germany he developed a passion for his favorite hobby, coin collecting. He was a member of the Salt City Coin Club; the Fulton County Numismatic Society; East Syracuse Coin Club; Syracuse Stamp and Coin Club. He was a member of the Konosioni Lodge No. 950, F&AM and a Past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Fralick Chapter 550. Jim was also known as the "Hub Cap Man" that set up in front of the Regional Market for over 15 years every Saturday. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a devoted family man.
He is survived by his daughter Carol Lynn Restey (Mike Zoll), a son; Walter J. (Alicea) Scott. He has a grandson Robert Restey and a granddaughter Lauren Restey, 3 step grandsons, his loving caregiver Jolene Hagglestrom, three brothers; Rev. Frank Scott, William Herbert (Billy) Scott and Randy Scott; a sister; Flossie E. Preston, 3 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 10 AM at Liverpool First Presbyterian Church, Tulip Street Liverpool, NY. Burial will be in the Veteran's Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Sunday from 1-4 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main St.
