James Alan Trexler, Sr., 77, passed away January 22, 2024. James was born in Fulton, New York on April 26, 1946 to the late Robert and Beatrice (Johnson) Trexler. He was a former member of the Plainville Volunteer Fire Department. He served his country in Vietnam with the US Air Force. He proudly served as Umpire In Chief for District 8 Little League. Jim retired from City Electric. He was a member of the Holy Name Society at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He loved golfing, riding his tractor, and gardening. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Sandra, Robert, Jack, Scott, and Donna.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Trexler; two sons, Michael (Noreen) Gugliotto, James (Michelle) Trexler Jr.; four daughters, Susan Gugliotto-McDowell, Diane (Richard) Milazzo, Debra (Mark) Reagan, Donielle (Jason) Eno; grandchildren, Quinn, Harrison, Clare, Veronika, Lucas, Thomas, Megan, Brandon, Gabrielle, Hannah, Keri, and Sara; great-grandchildren, Riley, Austin, Dylan, and Jordan; brother, Bill; five sisters, Roberta, Beverly, Joan, Suzanne, and Bonnie and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Sunday, Jan. 28th from 4-6PM, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse. A funeral mass will take place Monday, Jan. 29th 9:30AM at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, NY with interment to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Central New York or the American Heart Association.
