James A. Sears Jr., 85, of Solvay passed away at Sunrise Nursing Home on Friday. James was born, the son of Florence Bethlea and James Sears Sr. of Fairmount. He retired from Goulds Pumps in Baldwinsville in 1986. Prior to that, he worked for Prosperity and Crouse Hinds. He was an avid outdoorsman, who also enjoyed horseshoes and bowling.
He is survived by his wife; Marguerite (Polinsky) Sears, a daughter; Susan (Dan) Smith, a granddaughter; Tracy (Dave) Perkins, a great-granddaughter Alaina, great-grandson; Ryan and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday at 4 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Spring burial will be in Union Cemetery, West Verona. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 1-4 PM at the funeral, 705 N Main St..
