James Walter Schweichler

Jim Schweichler passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in North Tonawanda, NY on June 16, 1937 the son of the late Walter J. and D. Marian Schweichler. Jim graduated from Royalton-Hartland High School and served with the Army National Guard. He retired in 1987 after a successful career of 31 years at Rochester Telephone Company. He joined Eastcom as vice president where he spent the next 25 years sharing his wisdom and experience.
Jim served his community in various leadership roles at his church and as president of his homeowner's association in Chili. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time spent with his wife and family at his summer home on the St. Lawrence River. Jim was an exceptional man; well loved and admired by all who knew him. He dedicated his life to his family and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Marie (Humphrey), two daughters Kim (Peter) Viau, Debbie (Randy) Jacoby, grandchildren; Katie (Jacoby) Stockwell, Sarah (Jacoby) Fitzpatrick, John and Daniel Viau, his great granddaughters Emma and Alaina Stockwell, sister, Cora Ann Bailey and her family.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY with a service to follow. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Lockport, NY with a private graveside service.
