James (Jim) W. Robertson, 89, of East Syracuse passed away on February 19th 2024.
He was born on May 21st, 1934 in Northampton, Massachusetts to his parents, Elvira and Alexander Robertson.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in 1954 - 1958 as a Radar Technician. He then went on to work at General Electric for 17 years, after his job ended there he worked at Miller Brewery in Fulton, NY until the brewery closed. He then tried his hand as a Black Jack Dealer at the Turning Stone Casino for a few years. He eventually retired at the age of 86 from Mackenzie Hughes LLP as a courier.
He enjoyed reading just about everything, bowling with his best friends, Lou and Sally Peters for over 50 years in a mixed league. He was a lifetime member on the Syracuse Pioneer Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed his gardens where he grew the best tomatoes. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. If you were a friend of his you were a friend for life.
He is predeceased by the love of his life, Donna Robertson; Brothers, Alexander and Jack; Sister, Grace; Nephew, David and many friends.
He is survived by his Daughters, Kelly Robertson, Kristy (Tom) Regan; Grandchildren, Riley, Alex and Joe; Great Grandchild, Gianna Carrodeguas; Sisters in law, Sally Hall and Carol Fineout; As well as many Nieces, Nephews and life long friends.
Visitation will take place on Monday, February 26th from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. Burial in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be on Tuesday at 9 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VA Medical Center.
