James P. Knight, 90, of Baldwinsville, NY died Monday surrounded by his family at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. He was born in Georgetown, KY, the son of the late Charles and Icy L. Adams Knight.

Jim retired from Iron Workers Local 60 in Syracuse in 1986. He was previously employed as a Union Boiler Maker where he worked at many Domestic and International locations. His most memorable projects were his involvement in the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway and the three nuclear plants at Nine Mile Point in Oswego.

James was a Highly Decorated Army Veteran during WWII. While serving in the Pacific Theater he received the Bronze Star with two Clusters. He was predeceased by a son, David Knight in 1997,and three brothers, Charles, Homer and George Knight.

Surviving are sons, James (Theresa) of Hastings, NY, Charles of Liverpool, NY, Timothy of Keller, TX and Jonathan Knight of Baldwinsville, NY; daughters, Amy Knight of Denver, PA, Anne (Brian) Hess of Mohnton, PA and Nancy (Matthew) Morin of Trenton, NJ; his former wife, Charlotte F. Knight of Baldwinsville, NY; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial with full Military Honors will take place in his home town of Georgetown, KY.
