James L. Hayes, 65, of Mattydale, passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Syracuse, he worked for Onondaga County before opening We Fix It, a self employed repair shop and later for JC Smith. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, enjoying spending time in the Adirondacks.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sheila; daughters, Deborah (Chris) Simon, Kathleen (Serge) Silva, Mary (Howard) Benway and Kimberly (Michael) Borregine; grandchildren, Matthew (Kathleen), Stephen, Melissa, Ana, Maria, Ashley and Ella; great grandchildren, Donovan and Colton.
Services will be Monday 6 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, NY. Calling hours will be Monday from 3-6 PM, at the funeral home, before services.
Contributions in James' name may be made to Hospice of CNY.
