James Lynn Knoop

James Lynn Knoop, 91, of Cicero passed away on November 23, 2023. Jim was born in Lockport, New York on May 5, 1932, to the late Donald and Blanche (Lynn) Knoop. Jim served in the United States Air Force and retired from Anaren Microwave where he worked in the Document Control Department for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed sailing and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim was a member of the United Methodist Men at Andrews Memorial United Methodist Church and volunteered at both North Area Meals on Wheels and the Cradle & Beyond Shop at Andrews Memorial United Methodist Church.

Jim was preceded by his parents and loving wife of 63 years Marilyn R. (Neidlinger) Knoop.

He is survived by his sons, Donald (Pamela) Knoop of Cicero and David (Jessica) Knoop of Vermont; his grandchildren, Janice (Nathan) Proctor of Maryland, Phillip Knoop of North Syracuse, Skylar Knoop of Vermont and his great-grandson, Elliott Proctor of Maryland; sister-in-law, Beverley Rhine of Pennsylvania; cousin Kathy Lynn of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at New Comer Funeral Home in North Syracuse, New York. Memorial donations may be made to North Area Meals on Wheels at 413 Church Street, North Syracuse, NY 13212 or Cradle & Beyond at 7778 Brewerton Road, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
