James W. Johnston

December 26, 1949 — July 23, 2019

James W. Johnston, 69, loving husband of Patricia, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday July 23rd.

He was born December 26, 1949, in Syracuse New York, to the late William G. Johnston and Ellen Conway Johnston.

He attended West Genesee High School and was employed as a manager at Puralor Courier of East Syracuse, some years ago.

Jim was retired, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia; children, Timothy Johnston (Jessica), Kelly Mennig (Breck), Christopher Smith (Desiree), Matthew Johnston (Jenn), and Jeremy Johnston (Maggie); 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and siblings, William (Debbie) of Florida, Mark (Becky) of California, Ellen Marie and Theresa (Clet) of North Carolina.

Family and Friends may call on Monday, July 29th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, NY, from 4 to 6 pm with a memorial service at 5pm.

Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation and Hospice of Central New York.
