James J. "Jim" Stine, 81, of Liverpool, passed away on Thursday at Loretto Nursing Home after a long illness. He was born on April 29, 1932 in Auburn, son of the late Earl and Bertha Stine. Jim served in the US Army during the Korean War, receiving the Bronze Star. He retired from Oberdorfer Pumps and previously worked for Rollway Bearing.
Jim was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed painting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty in 2006, his brother, Earl and a sister, Mary.
Surviving are 2 sons: James, Jr. (Kim), Michael (Michelle), 8 grandchildren: Billy, Sheila, Heather, James, III, Kaitlyn, Michael, Alex & Taylor, and 5 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday 10am at North Syracuse Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
