James F. Garofalo,Jr.

James Frank Garofalo Jr., 62, of Syracuse passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on December 8th, 2023.

Jim was born in Syracuse to the late James F. and Rose A. Garofalo and spent his life there. He was a 1979 graduate of West Genesee High School.

Jim was self-employed, providing general contracting services for all of CNY. He was hands on, up for any challenge, and enjoyed passing on his extensive knowledge to his children and nephews.

Jim found joy in the simple things in life- the sun on his face, riding his motorcycle, spending time up at camp, and jumping on the bed with his grandchildren- Cora, Stone and Kane.

Jim celebrated through the years with friends and family, living life to the fullest. He was a rush, always making us laugh and putting a smile on everyone's face. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, and you could always count on him in a time of need.

He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Rachel Garofalo, his son James Garofalo III and his family; Cierra, Cora, Stone and Kane Garofalo, along with his siblings Joanne and Tom DiNapoli, John and Jan Garofalo, Jeanette and Paul Chajka, Judy and Dale Brookins, Rosanne and Rick Laws, Teresa and the late David Baden, Patty and Paul Johnson, along with his cousin Dominic Garofalo and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a family celebration of Jim's life at the family's camp, which was incredibly special to him throughout the years. Cremation is taking place through the care of New Comer Funeral Home. There are no calling hours.

Jim had a strong faith in God, and in accordance with His teachings, Jim's final gift was being an organ and tissue donor. If you wish to make a donation in honor of Jim, please consider donating to the Francis House of Syracuse, NY.
