James F. "Jim" Minekheim, 83, of Liverpool, passed away on Friday at home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 22, 1931, son of the late Robert and Helen Minekheim. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart Medal. He retired from the US Postal Service after 36 years of employment. Jim was an avid golfer and SU sports fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his fellow VFW friends. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Minekheim.

Surviving are his 5 daughters; Kathleen (Kevin) Stehle, Patricia Watters, Eileen Forney, Elizabeth (Carl) DeStephano, Jennifer (Robert) Liccardo, 10 grandchildren; Melissa, Ryan, Matthew, Jeffrey, Alexandra, Nicole, Holly, Meagan, Benjamin, Isabella, along with nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church.
