James F. Burns, 82, of Brewerton, passed away Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. James was a veteran of WWII (Navy) and the Korean War (Army). He retired from GM in 1988 and was a member of the UAW. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 915, Lake Bonaparte Conservation Club, the Oneida Flyers and a 50 year member of St. Agnes Church, Brewerton. James is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Burns (2005) and a grandson, Jimmy Crump.

He is survived by a son, Frank Burns of Watauga, TX; 6 daughters, Nancy (Tony McDonough of Red Lion, PA, Peggy Crump of Orlando, FL, Kathy (Dick) Ryan of Easton, PA, Jennie (Barry) Margeson of Rochester, Lori (Mike) Kubacki of Central Square and Karen (Brian) Bannan of Lockport; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday, 10AM in St. Agnes Church, Brewerton. Burial will follow in the North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 1-4PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.

Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital, 301 Prospect Ave., Syracuse, NY 13203.
