James F. Armstrong, 63, of E. Syracuse, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Sunday. James was born in Penn Yan, NY. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1969 and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served for 4 years. He worked for Dakota Security until his retirement in 2013. He was a devoted grandfather and family photographer. James was predeceased by his father, John Armstrong and a grandson, Anthony Arcuri.

James is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sharon; a daughter, Christine Armstrong; 3 step children, Tracy (Michael) Verrigni, Jodi (Michael) Arcuri and Christopher (Katherine) Warren; 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, Benjamin and Emma; his mother, Dorothy Armstrong; 4 siblings, Martha (Pete) Puhak, John Armstrong, Deborrah Nanuseski and Sara (Bart) Power and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Burial will take place on Friday 11AM in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
