James E. Locke, Jr., left this world on August 17, 2010 from his home in accordance with his last wishes. Jim was predeceased by his parents, James E. Locke, Sr. and Kathleen (Rice) Locke, and beloved feline, Shanti.

He is survivied by his wife, Barbara; step-son Mark Fioramonti; granddaughter, Eileen Fioramonti; and much-loved feline companions, Sneakers and Phantom.

Jim loved his family and home, and was especially proud of his step-son for his musical accomplishments and his granddaughter for her musical and theater talents.

Jim thououghly enjoyed his work and colleagues in the I.T. department at Loretto where he was employed as a computer programmer. He loved music especially the Moody Blues and The Who, playing his guitars, learning languages such as Latin and Mandarin Chinese, and buying gifts for his granddaughter with whom he shared an interest in ancient Egypt.

Jim's family would like to thank Hospice of Central New York for their excellent service, caregivers Linda Hagger and Pat Sallin, and neighbors John Hauswirth, Rebecca Francis and Devin Chavis for their help during Jim's illness.

Services will be 5:30 pm Friday at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Friday 4 – 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home, prior to services.
