James E. Havens, 85, of North Syracuse, passed away on Sunday. He was born on June 10, 1928 in Cazenovia, NY. He graduated from Cazenovia High School where he was active in sports. He served in the military in Japan and Korea during the Korean War. He was a member of the Cicero United Methodist Church. He was employed for 17 years as a Senior Budget Analyst at Crouse Hinds Co. Later he spent time with O'Brien & Gere, plus two other local firms. He also spent 5 years as Village Administrator for municipality in Western, NY. After 2 years of retirement he worked as a part time technical analyst for the county Dept. of Water Equipment Protection, until 2004.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice of 54 years, son William (Miesje) Havens, 2 grandsons, Maxwell & William, brother, Jonathan (Eileen) Havens, along with several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 10am at Cicero United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at a later date.
