James W. Downey, 86, of Phoenix, passed away April 8, 2024.
James was born in Carthage, New York on February 6, 1938 to the late Barney and Myrtle Downey.
A U.S Marine Corps Veteran, James eventually retired from New Process Gear after 35 years as a Machinist. He was a life member of the
James Harvey Spire Post 787 American Legion in Cicero.
He was preceded in death by his Brother, Bernard Downey.
He is survived by his Wife of 56 years, Dawn Downey; Three Daughters, Kathleen (Steven) Scott, Caren (Nathan) Sessions, Courtney (Rich) Bourque;
Son, James C.L. (Lauri) Downey; Twelve Grandchildren and One Great Grandson; Two Sisters, Ruth Herb and Maryann Bell.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 14th from 1-4PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. Military honors will follow at 4PM.
