James D. "Buddy" Montgomery

James Davis "Buddy" Montgomery, 78, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday at Vivian Teal Howard Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born in Panama City, FL., he was an Army Veteran. He moved to Syracuse in 1960 from Sanford, FL. He was the pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church from 1962-1971. He was also employed by the railroad system. He last attended the Brotherly Love C.O.G.I.C.
He leaves to cherish in loving memory, five sons, LeRoy, James (Yvette), Ronnie, Anthony, Rickey (Antoinette) Montgomery; three daughters, Corine Harris, Sara (Kevin) Montgomery-Lee, Verleen Innis; five brothers, Theodore Sr., Elisha, Wallace Sr., Archie Sr., Lee Sr.; a sister; Ann Covington; 30 Grandchildren 10 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Brotherly Love C.O.G.I.C. Burial will follow in Onondaga Co. Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday from 6-8 PM.
