James "Diamond Jim" F. Barrett, 82, of Fulton NY, passed away October 11, 2023. He was employed with General Electric Co. Syracuse for 10 years, finally retiring with Nestle's Chocolate of Fulton after 30 years. Jim served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany and Berlin from 1961-1963. He enjoyed his camp at Brennan Beach RV Park for 39 years. Jim took pleasure in spending his winters in Florida with his wife Sandy for the last 16 years. He was an avid Syracuse sports fan and took great pride in working in his yard. However, his greatest joy was taking care of his family.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra L. Barrett; loving son, James F. (Melissa) Barrett, Jr.; two granddaughters (his little meatballs), Emily and Kara Barrett who he loved with all his heart; sister, Carole Case Salisbury; and several Nieces. Nephews, and Grand Nieces and Nephews.
Jim said to say, "Goodbye to all his Earthly friends and family," as he will be saying, "hello" to all his, "heavenly friends and family."
"He was my best friend and love whom I will miss forever. There will be an empty place in our hearts until we are finally together."
A Mass intention will be held in Jim's honor on October 21st at the 5PM Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Baldwinsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to Golisano Children's Hospital, One Children's Circle, Syracuse, NY 13210 or Tunnels to Towers Foundation for Veterans and Firefighters.
