James Allen Almonte

James Allen Almonte, 67, of Syracuse, passed away December 26, 2021. James was born in Syracuse, New York on February 23, 1954 to the late Albert and Helen Almonte. After over 30 years, he retired from the Onondaga County Health Department. Prior to his retirement he also worked as a special deputy officer for Onondaga County. He was a coin collector, avid fishermen and hunter, most importantly loved his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Almonte; three sons, Alan (Kelly) Almonte, Patrick (Nicole) Danquer, Joseph (Alyssa) Almonte; two daughters, Heather Rothermel, Jennifer Rothermel; grandchildren, Alec, Brenden, Madison, Aishon, Morgan, Austin, Wyett, Landon, Sadie, Xavior, Logan, and Paisley; two sisters, Patty (Gary) Kinslow, Barbara (Mike) Dunn; two brothers, Robert Almonte, Lenny (Karen) Almonte; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Monday, Jan. 3, 10AM-12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, NY. Interment to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
