James A. Kroth

James A. Kroth, 81, of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday after a brief illness. He was a life member of the Liverpool Vol. Fire Dept. He was involved in Scouting and a past member of IPMS Syracuse. He was a self-employed carpet installer for over 20 years, and worked for a local business management company prior to retiring.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, building plastic airplane and automobiles, and many various home improvement crafts. Always ready with a story and a joke, he was a permanent fixture at the CNY Regional Sunday Flea Market, an auction, or at a neighbor's fence. He was well-known in his neighborhood, ready to help plow and snowblow during a storm, put on a new roof, or lay new carpet.
He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth; brother Bill; sisters, Marylou and Posie; and a nephew, Chris Kroth.
James is survived by his children, Karen (Charles) Wise and Andrew Kroth; two grandsons, Nate and Ben; sisters, Marlea Stagnitti and Noelle Lazarony; a brother, John Kroth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 1-3 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York 13212. Services will follow at 3PM.
