Jacqueline M. Nichols, “Jackie”, 46, passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2024. Born to her parents, Sharon A. Nichols (Snover) and Scott A. Nichols, in Syracuse, NY on May 18, 1978.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Ariana Sherman (Adam Morin); her son, Anthony Kazel; and her parents, Sharon Snover and Scott Nichols (Lauren Poehlman). Her younger sisters, Rebecca Stone (Daniel Horton), Stephanie Goppelt (Kevin Hatem), Amie (Jeff) Abold, and Emily Nichols. Her nieces and nephews, Brandon, Makayla, Noah, Haylie, Logan, and Callie. As well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, William and Cora Snover and Charles and June Nichols. Additionally, her uncles, Thomas Snover and Charles “Nick” Nichols.
Jackie attained her associate degree from Onondaga Community College, but found true joy in her career as a server in restaurants throughout the Syracuse area. Her favorite aspect of her work was connecting with old and new customers through conversations that revolved around bragging about her daughter, nieces and nephews, sisters, or other family happenings. Jackie was known for her generosity, witty remarks, and hard-working nature. Although she had her own struggles, she remained dedicated to her family, cherishing time spent together during family celebrations and holidays. She also loved a hot cup of coffee, a good book, and walks on sunny days. Jackie had an adventurous spirit and held dear the memories made while traveling with her daughter and family. If given more time, she had a long wish list of new places to explore. She will be severely missed.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 787, 5575 Legionnaire Dr., Cicero, NY 13039.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Safe Space Organization at https://givebutter.com/MQ1nRB or mailed to 120 E Washington St, Suite 601, Syracuse, NY 13202. A fundraiser will also be held for this organization at her event for those who wish to donate in person.
