Jack Alverson, 68 of North Syracuse passed away Tuesday March 29, 2005. Before moving to Syracuse Jack grew up in Sacketts Harbor, NY. He was an avid vegetable grower, famous for his tomatoes and pumpkins. He retired from ABF Trucking and the Teamsters Local 317. Jack served in the Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Loretta, a daughter; Cindy Drake and son; Jack Benjamin, both of South Carolina, two step-daughters; Michele (Jack) Pascarella of Cicero, Jennifer Pitts of North Syracuse, two step-sons; Richard and Darrell White of Syracuse, sixteen grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Marie Alverson of Syracuse, one brother-in-law; Raymond Reed of Adams Center, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, 9 AM at New Comer Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main St., North Syracuse.
