Jack A. Dyer

Jack A. Dyer, 88, of Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday.
Jack was born in raised in Syracuse, where he attended Eastwood High School and played football throughout his high school years.
He entered the Army Air Corps at the age of 17. He was in the class before the Army and the Air Corps separated. He proudly served in World War II.
Jack went on to serve many years in Law Enforcement, including the Syracuse Police force, New Hartford Town Police and the Oneida County Sheriffs' Department. He was the first to hold a dual badge in Oneida County.
Jack and his family operated The Coney Island Diner in New Hartford, NY for many years. Jack was also a proud member of American Legion Post #1376 and the 40et8.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary Dyer.
Survivors include his children, Jack, Torchee, Mark, Cathy, Harry, Mary, Marlene and Shirlee.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Susie, who lovingly cared for Jack for many years.
A Memorial Service will be 1PM on Saturday, Nov. 9 at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.
