Isabelle Russell Rubacha, 98, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Thursday surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Massena, NY on June 23, 1914. She was a WWII veteran serving in the Army, in Africa. She worked as a secretary for various companies and retired from Lincoln Supply Co. She was a member of the St. Lucy's Church choir. She was an avid knitter and card player. She was treasurer at Providence House Apts. for four years. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and family.
She is predeceased by her brother, Harold Russell and sister, Thelma Laurin.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Patrick) Ahern; four grand-children, Patrick (Susyn) Ahern, Heather (Paul) Silvia, Bridget (David) Gilbertsen and Kerry (Paul) Johnson; seven great grandchildren, Meghan, Ryan, Brady, Isabelle, Teresa, Haley and Tatum; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10-11AM at Holy Cross Church, Dewitt. Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM. Burial will be at the Onon. Co. Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
