Irene F. Slattery, 80, passed away on Tuesday April 12th 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born and raised in Syracuse, Irene spent most of her adult life in Cicero NY where she enjoyed boating on Oneida Lake with her late husband (1999) William E. Slattery Jr.
She was motivated and proud of her role in the Bridgeport Drum & Bugle Corps kids and family.
Irene was the daughter of the late Paul and Mildred (Hinds) Winkelmann.
Irene is survived by her sons, Michael (Deborah) Slattery, Timothy (Shannon) Slattery, William E. Slattery III daughter, Deborah (John) Mitchell, grandchildren; Jason (Susan) Slattery, Justin Slattery, Danya (TJ) Martin, Derek, Nathan (Sarah) Slattery, Corey Slattery, Erin Slattery, great grandchildren; Ryan, Jack, Luke, Ella-Rose, Daxn, Prin, Braden, sisters, Kathy (Glid Courtney) Stanton, Shirley Lough, Kandiss (Dave) Wiemier, Pauleen Winkelmann as well as dozens of nieces and nephews of Central New York.
Irene was predeceased by her brothers Leonard, Robert and Thomas (Elizabeth) Winkelmann.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4:30-7:30pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the SPCA of Central New York.
