Irene Baxter Burke went home on November 16, 2017. She was born on June 29, 1931, daughter of Amos and Arabella Baxter Hoyt. After her mothers death in 1934, she lived with her grandparents, Nathan and Irene Baxter. She was adopted in 1941 and became a Baxter. She graduated in Central Square in 1949 and went on to Philadelphia Bible Institute. She married Noel Burke in 1959. As Baptist Missionaries, they lived in Suriname, England, Holland and Toronto. Irene was last employed at Carvel's.
Irene is survived by her daughters; Valerie Garrison of Florida, Ria Foster of Virginia, son Philip of the Netherlands, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers; Donald, Tacoma, WA, Dean (Linda) of Hastings.
Irene's family will celebrate her life on the anniversary of her birth date June 29, 2018 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. Burial will take place immediately following services at Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
