Howard L. Schilling

Howard L. Schilling, 86, of West Monroe passed away Thursday at his daughters' house after a long illness. Born in Syracuse, NY and a resident of West Monroe since 1952, he served in WW II in the Pacific Theater with the 13th Army Air Force. Howard worked at both Porter Cable and New Process Gear for 25 years each before retiring from NPG in 1987. Howard was a member of the UAW Local 624. He is predeceased by his wife, Bernadine Williams Schilling who passed away in 2000.
He is survived by his six children; Kathleen Borland, Edward (Cheryl) Schilling, Susan LeBeau, Steven Schilling, Bert (Jackie) Schilling and Laura (Victor) Parker, a sister; Leona Schilling Cook, sister-in-laws; Edna Schilling, Marilyn Schilling and Ruth Baker,18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, 10 AM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in Union Settlement Cemetery, West Monroe. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday from 3-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 North Main St.
