Howard R. "Skip" Abbey, 98, of East Syracuse died Friday at Stonehedge Nursing Home with grandchildren, Diana and Bill Adams and great grandchildren, Matthew Adams and Cheryl Curtis by his side. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially by his "baby dolls"; his great-great-granddaughters, Kayleigh and Abigail."Skip" retired from East Syracuse Chevrolet after 30 years of service as a parts delivery person. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine in 2007, a sister, Norma Zinsmeyer and two brothers, Charles and Earl Abbey.
He is survived by his daughters, Roberta (Henry) Davis of Fl., Marilyn Guiles of Cicero and Yvonne (Gordon) Pollock of S.C.; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 10 AM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St.
