Howard G. Hagan

Howard G. Hagan, 97, of East Syracuse, died peacefully Saturday Morning. He was born in Syracuse, the youngest of four children, on October 18, 1910, to Arthur Joseph and Wilhomina Weimer Hogan. He attended Vocational High School, where he excelled in baseball, boxing and ice hockey, playing at various city parks and the State Fair Coliseum. He was an avid Yankee Fan. A self taught mechanical, woodworker, electrician and inventor, he was employed at the Franklin Autoworks, Nettleton Shoes, and Kilian Manufacturing during his life. Attracted to all types of technology, he worked with early radio and television in his business on North Salina St. called Hagan Brothers Radio & TV. At his death he was still working on business programs on his computer. He and his wife shared a particular interest in Ireland. On Monday, St. Patrick's Day, he watched the NYC parade while enjoying a pint of Guinness.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mildred Bailey; son Howard R. and wife Chris; son Roger C. and wife Joanne; grandson Brian and wife Sharron; grandson, David and granddaughter Linda.
There will be no Calling Hours. Funeral Services will be private.
