Howard F. Joy, 85, of Central Square, formerly of Camillus, passed away on Thursday at Upstate Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in the Town of Manlius son of the late Floyd and Ethel Joy. He was employed for 65 years at Auto Gear Company retiring this year. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping at Edgewater Campsite on Oneida Lake, he was an avid SU Fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his son, Howard (Doreen) Joy, 2 daughters: Bonnie (Gary) French, Deborah (Scott) McGrew, step-daughter, Dorothy Ambriati (George), 6 grandchildren: Michael (Elisabeth), Toni (Ryan), Brandon, Jeffrey, Julie & Tommy, 7 great grandchildren: Mitchell, Tyler, Baby Mike, Trevor, Elliott, Ada & Finn, sister, Dorothy Schaffer, along with nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will be held on Tuesday 10am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Howlett Hill Cemetery.
