Horace N. Morse

Horace N. Morse, 89, of Cicero, passed away on Monday in Florida. He was born on June 20, 1923, in Syracuse, son of Chester and Olga Nelson Morse. He graduated from North Syracuse High School and excelled in football and baseball. After graduating high school he went to trade school to be a carpenter. He was last employed as a carpenter at Phillips Magnavox in Manlius. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are 2 daughters; Linda (Hal) Dixon, FL, Jill (Clancy) Lux, FL, son, Richard (Kathleen) Morse, Utica, 2 step children; Judy Schmidt, NJ, David (Kathy) Webb, VA, 6 grandchildren; Jamie Dixon, SC, Ronnie Becker, FL, Danny Webb, NY, Tammy (Less) Oppenheimer, NJ, Kenny (Edwege) Schmidt, CA, Dusty (Mellissa) Schmidt, NJ, along with several great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Kay Morse and her son John Morse.
He was predeceased by his former wives, Pansy Jackson, 2002, Marion J. Morse, 2005, 2 brothers, Andrew and Jack Morse.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 11-12noon at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY, with services to follow. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or to Hospice.
