Herman J. Seymour Jr., 67, of Liverpool, NY, died on Friday, at St. Joseph's Hospital, after a long illness, with his loving family by his side. Herman was born in Syracuse to Herman and Mary Seymour. Mr. Seymour was a proud member and "brother" of Painter's Local 31 for 50 years, being the 7th generation of painters in his family. He worked for various contractors throughout the area, the last 13 years with the Syracuse City Parks & Recreation Dept., also serving as vice president of the local for 20years. He was an avid history buff, loved the Everly Brothers and had the kindest heart to everyone who knew him. He met his wife, Donna on an ice skating rink, fell madly in love and was married for 44 years.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Donna; his son, Herman III(Denise); his daughter, Christine (David) Johnson; his precious grandchildren, , Krystal, Jenifer, Shawn and Bill Seymour; and his very precious great grandchildren, , Aryan, Tori and Keirstyn, together with a brother, John and several nieces and nephews.
"When you see a beautiful rainbow, just remember, Herm probably painted it to make you smile".
The family wishes to thank his doctors and all the staff, and especially those in the MICU unit at St. Joseph's Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St. N. Syracuse with a service to celebrate Herman's life following.
