Henry J. Van Auken Jr., 84, of North Syracuse, previously of Boca Raton, FL, passed away Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, Henry was a graduate of RIT and an Army veteran of WWII serving in the CBI Theatre. He owned and operated VanChromes Corp. in NYC, a professional photographer and was an avid model railroader. Henry is predeceased by his first wife, Frances and his second wife, Jean.
He is survived by sons, H. James (Donna), Gary (Yolanda) Van Auken; a brother, Robert Van Auken; sisters, Ruth and Alice Van Auken; step sons, Richard and Joseph Curcio; 3 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Services will be Monday, 10 AM New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. A calling hour will be Monday from 9-10AM at the funeral home, 705 N Main St.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. of CNY, 441 W Kirkpatrick St, Syracuse, NY.
