Helen Ina Vault, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Syracuse, NY, at the age of 94. Born on June 15, 1930, in Mentz, NY, Helen was known for her sassy, stylish, and genuine personality which left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Helen was employed as a financial advisor with the NYS Council of Churches in Dewitt, where she dedicated her professional life to helping others. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family, which she often described as her proudest accomplishment.
Helen is survived by her two daughters, Lynette (James) Parker and Amy (David) Brown; two sons, Stephen Wilson and Corey (Judy) Wilson; 11 grandchildren, James (Amanda) Parker, Jessica Speranza, Brendan Wilson, Taylor (Mckenzie) Wilson, Zachary (Emily) Brown, Cameron Wilson, Stephen (Annie) Brown, Calee (Alex) Clute, DeForest (Angela) Brown, Makayla Brown, and Faith Brown. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Mason Speranza, Luke Parker, Wyatt Brown, and Winston Brown; her sister, Sheila Martin; sister-in-law, Jane Bowen; and several nieces and nephews who shall miss her deeply.
She is predeceased by her father, Clarence G. Bowen; her mother, Violet M. Bowen; her son, Harold Wilson; and her two brothers, Glenn Bowen and Russell Bowen.
Helen will be honored during visitation on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both taking place at Cicero United Methodist Church, 8416 Brewerton Road, Cicero, NY 13039. Her burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Syracuse, NY, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Above all, Helen's lively spirit and zest for life will be remembered fondly by her family and friends, leaving a legacy that will endure through the generations she cherished.
