Helen M. Dixon-Alchesky (LaPan) 64 passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at home with her family in Syracuse, NY
At her request services will be private.
Born January 14, 1949 in Syracuse to Francis and Margaret LaPan who preceded her. Helen grew up and attended schools in Camillus. Helen married and moved to Tipp Hill where she raised her three children.
Helen worked with the disabled all her life at Hutchings, Syracuse Developmental Center and Arc of Onondaga until she retired earlier this year. Her devotion to those in need was extraordinary and defined her as a person. Helen was best known for her generosity and kindness to everyone she knew.
She is survived by Gary Alchesky and Kevin Sibson, daughters Teri and Gerald Jacobs of Solvay, NY, Tami and Bart Musty of Post Mills, VT, Leah Alchesky of Syracuse, NY, her four grandchildren Conner, Cody, Brendan and Sophia. She also survived by her brothers Bill of Syracuse, NY, Bob of Baldwinsville, NY, John of Tucson, AZ and their families.
