Harry Taylor Neale III, a longtime resident of Cicero, died of kidney failure on December 2 at Saint Joseph's Hospital.
The son of Harry T. Neale, Jr. and Mary Holleran Neale, Mr. Neale was born in Mansfield, Ohio on July 7, 1943. In 1949, his family settled in Piercefield-Upland Farms in Solvay. He was a 1965 graduate of Solvay High School, and later studied engineering at Saint Bonaventure University in Olean, NY, and at Onondaga Community College. Mr. Neale worked in sales and technical support for the former Onondaga Supply Company and Hamilton-Avnet, Inc. In later years, he provided information systems support for ENTEC Corporation and ADFR, Inc. from a home office.
Mr. Neale moved to Cicero in 1984, settling in a home on Oneida Lake. He loved living on the lake, piloting his cruiser and party boat as far as Sampson, NY to the west, and Sylvan Beach to the east. For some years, he was a Civil War battle reenactor. Drawing on his engineering skills, he built computer systems, custom-made firearms, and other complex electronics as a hobby.
He was close friends with his neighbors, Thomas and Terry Walsh and their extended family. His brothers are deeply grateful to Tom and Terry for their friendship, support, and the care they extended.
Mr. Neale is survived by two brothers, Richard M. (Sandra Fontanella) of Liverpool, Thomas H. of Washington, DC, and two nephews, Richard, Jr. and Brian Neale.
Calling hours will take place December 18th from 11AM-12PM with a service to follow at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main, North Syracuse, NY.
