Harry C. Archer

Harry C. Archer, 86, formerly of Cicero died Tuesday at Betsy Ross Nursing Home in Rome following a long illness. Harry retired from Price Chopper in 1987 following 14 years of service as a meat cutter, he previously worked for Loblaw's and was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union. He was a member of the South Shore Rod & Gun Club, a life member of the Cicero Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Archer was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII as a Seabee. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Buck Archer who died in 2006.
Surviving are two daughters, JoAnne (Thomas) Bartlett of Solvay and Denise (Joseph) Messano of Michigan; two sons, H. David (Amanda) and Michael R. (Donna) Archer both of Cicero; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery. Calling hour will be Friday from 11:30-1:30 PM, at the funeral home.
