Hank Schrenko, 73, of Clay, took his final dive on Saturday with his loving family by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Dean Schrenko, his son, John, daughters, Carin Austin and Kim Myers; grandchildren, Cayla (Nick) Barrington, Tiffany and Seth Myers; and several cousins.
Hank served proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, was a deputy with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, and a member of the Onondaga County Dive Team. He retired from National Grid, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He was also an ordained minister, instructor at the O.C. Public Safety Training Center, and a certified dive master.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with military honors to be rendered following. A private burial will occur in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
