Harold J. Brown, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away Thursday at University Hospital with his loving family by his side. He graduated from North High School and attended LeMoyne College. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 32 years of service. Brownie loved his dear cat Katy; sports, especially baseball and the Syracuse Orange; his 32 years vacationing on Cape Cod; and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Jean Brown.

He is survived by his children; Daniel (Betty) Brown, Lorna (Bob) Nevil and Terry (Dan) DeMarco, his grandchildren; Trevor, Caroline, Meghan, Emily, Dustin and Kyle, three great grandchildren; Bailey Rae, Benjamin Trevor and Emma Jean; sister-in-law, Joan Brown; brother-in-law, Charles Jaquin; and several nieces and nephews. Brownie was a sweet and gentle man who will be truly missed.
Services will be Tuesday at 7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. The family will greet friends from 5-7PM, at the funeral home, before services. Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
