Harold C. Abend, 90, of Syracuse, went home to Jesus on February 2, 2021.
Harold was born in East Syracuse, New York on November 14, 1930 to the late Jacob and Margaret Abend.
A U.S. Army Korean Veteran, Harold worked for Strathmore Paint Factory as a paint technician for many years. A man of faith, he enjoyed his time spent at Vineyard Church. In his free time, he liked building wooden ships from scratch, camping, playing cards and painting. He also loved to have picnics at the airport, reading and watching his TV shows. Most of all he loved to spend time with his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Helen Abend; Daughter, Sheena (John Jr.) Elacqua; Grandchildren, John III (Esther), Stacey (Dan), Tiffany and Ginger; 12 Great Grandchildren; Brother-in-law, Daniel Yawman.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, 3-6 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. A service will follow at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
