H. John Huniford, 88, formerly of N. Syracuse passed away on Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born August 3, 1923 in Manlius. He served in the US Air Force during WW II. He was married to Ann L. Huniford for 60 years. Employed at Carrier Corp. for 35 years retiring in 1986. John enjoyed his winters in Florida and summers with his family at his cottage on the St. Lawrence River.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann and his son J. Matthew. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Huniford, two sons; James Huniford, Thomas (Susan) Huniford, two daughters; Patricia (Arthur) Cafarelli, Mary Lou (James) Tillman, 9 grandchildren; Michael, Robert & Matthew Cafarelli, Jennifer Stone, Daniel Tillman, Lauren, Kyle, Jack & Ava Huniford, 5 great grandchildren; Nicholas & Edward Cafarelli, Matthew, Madelyn & Maddox Stone.
There are no calling hours. A memorial mass held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Alexandria Bay later this year.
