H. Garrett "Garre" Krayenhof, 69, died Monday, April 20, 2015 after a brief illness.

"Garre" or "Butchie" as he was known to family and friends, grew up in Dewitt and attended Jamesville-Dewitt High School. He also attended Iowa Wesleyan University and later studied computer technology in NYC. At the time of his death, the love of his life, Marjorie Williamson Krayenhof, wife of 36 years and his sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Smith were at his side. For many years, he was employed by Carrols Restaurant Group in Syracuse as a computer programmer and later manager. Later, he worked for PEACE Inc. and retired in 2008. As a child, he and his family spent summers at their home on Round Island in his beloved Thousand Islands and it was there he developed his passion for boating and water skiing. He was past President of the Onondaga Ski Club and an avid photographer, including a race car photography business, B&B Racing, which he ran with a friend. He was a big time WWII buff. He and "Margie" enjoyed travelling back to the Thousand Islands and motoring throughout Europe.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Lucille (Edgar) Krayenhof Roll of Basking Ridge, NJ; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann (James) Smith; brothers-in-law, Edward (Ruth) Williamson and Steve Williamson; nieces and nephews, Amy Smith, Brian Smith, Elizabeth (Matt) Sellars, Timothy Williamson, Dorian (Charles Schweitzer) Roll, John (Paula) Roll, Marcia (James) Reilly and Christina (Jeffrey) Mahoney; great nieces and nephew, Ian Smith, Tyler Sellars, Meredith (Daniel) Porri, Katherine Roll, Christopher, Patrick and Brian Reilly and Molly and Max Mahoney.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 1PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.
