H. David Archer, husband to Amanda and life-long resident of Cicero, NY, passed away on Monday at his home. He was 62. David graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1968 and married his love, Amanda Jean Brand, in 1974. The couple settled in Cicero and had three daughters. David retired in 2006 after a 30-year career with Onondaga County. David leaves behind a loving family including his wife, daughters, Michelle Archer, Carol Archer Boboris (Peter), and Dr. Judith Archer (Dr. Kevin Clogg), and three brilliant grandchildren, Kaitlyn Clogg, Dimitri Boboris and Harris Archer Boboris, who each enjoyed "helping" their Grampa fix things around the house (which generally tripled the length of time it took Grampa to complete his project, but he wouldn't have had it any other way). Surviving family members also include two sisters, JoAnne Bartlett (Tom) and Denise Messano (Joe), one extremely helpful brother Michael (Donna), and several nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Frances Archer, and brother, Harry Clyde Jr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Friday 11am at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Syracuse.
