Gwendolyn P. Mack

June 27, 1958 — April 8, 2018

Gwendolyn Patrice Mack

Gwendolyn P. Mack was born on June 27th, 1958, in St. Petersburg Florida to the late Barbara A. Leonard and Walter Cotton Jr.

At the tinder age of 5 years her mother moved the family to Syracuse New York, a place that would provide the perfect nurturing environment for the shy child that would become known to all as "Momma Gwen…" At an early age she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior.
Momma Gwen graduated from William Nottingham High School and secured teaching credentials from Onondaga Community College. This lead to numerous teaching support roles and a retirement from the Syracuse City School District. She was very involved in the Community that she loved; serving as an active member of Mothers Against Gun Violence, founding the Outreach Ministry at Tucker Missionary Baptist Church ("HIT" Outreach – a work-in-progress), helped launch the Mary Nelson's Youth/Community Center where she served as the Center's first Executive Director.

Momma Gwen departed this life, in the presence of loved ones, on April 8, 2018.

Gwendolyn was proceeded by her parents Barbara A. Leonard, Walter Cotton Jr. and Sister Karen R. Baugh.

She leaves to celebrate her life…

I asked for Strength…
And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom…
And God gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity…
And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage…
And God gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love…
And god gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for Favors…
And God gave me Opportunities
I received nothing I wanted…
I received everything I needed!
