Gretchen (Warren) Cottrell

Gretchen (Warren) Cottrell, 78, of Cicero, NY and formerly of Mims, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 1st with family at her side. She was born in Troy, NY to the late Thelma and Irving Warren. She married Gary Cottrell on November 8, 1980.Gretchen worked for many years as Service Adviser at Carbone Pontiac in Syracuse and retired in 2015 as a Title Clerk from Ron Norris Honda in Titusville, Florida. She was also very active in the Moyers Corners Fire Department Ladies Auxillary as well as an EMT.

After retirement in 2016, she moved back to Syracuse to be closer to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed coffee hour and playing dice with her many friends at Lucille Manor; as well as commenting on Facebook and playing cross stitch. Gretchen was known for her nightly drink of Apricot Brandy (Hiram Walker).

She was predeceased by her husband, Gary Cottrell and a sister, Nancy Bloser.

Gretchen is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Carew) Davis, Audra (Jon) Worthen, Charlotte Cottrell and Allison Griffith; grandchildren, Nick (Allison) Kadick, Justin (Erica) Valenson, Alyssa (Alex Ramirez) Watson, Jordan Watson, Hannah Worthen, Jonathan Worthen II, Frank Lanzafame, Damion Briscoe and Ciera Murphy; great-grandchildren, Zakari Kadick, Alexandra Kadick, Zoey Valenson, Avianna Ramirez and Alexandro Ramirez; siblings, Carol (Robert) Theisen, Barb Theisen and Terry Warren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 21st 4-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals with a service to follow at 6pm.

The family wishes to thank PACE of CNY and St. Joseph's Hospital staff on floor 3-2.
