Gregory Scott Reed

Gregory Scott Reed, 58, of Mattydale, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on March 3, 2024.

Gregory was born in Tampa, Florida on March 22, 1965 to Lee Childs and Mary Joan Coughlin.

A 1983 Fowler High School Graduate, he went on to OCC to study computer technology. Greg worked in direct sales for Spectrum, previously Time Warner Cable, for the past 23 years. He was a devoted parishioner to St. Margaret's Church and always shared his religious values with his family. He was a dedicated family man, who loved taking pictures and being present for family events. He was proud of his Irish heritage and celebrated St. Patrick's Day every year. When he was younger he enjoyed camping, trips to amusement parks with his family and going on adventures. He was an avid lover of music, specifically rock music, in hopes to be a Rockstar someday.

He was preceded in death by Father, Lee Childs.

He is survived by his Mother, Mary Joan Coughlin, his three Daughters, Amanda Reed, Andreana (Jeffrey) Guyette, and Roxanne Reed; Son, Andrew Reed; Sister, Johanna (Derrick) Reed-Russell; Two Grandsons, Tobias Matkowski and Owen Guyette; Granddaughter, Amelia Guyette and his Niece, Mersadiz (Nick) Tata; as well as many friends who cared about him deeply.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse. A celebration of life will follow visitation at a TBD location. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Charities.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Margaret's Church. Internment will take place at a later date.
